As a city, Lublin was not only a witness but also an author of the events that shaped free Poland. It was here where on the 7th of November 1918 Provisional People's Government of the Republic of Poland was appointed, and the city became a temporary capital of the country. In Lublin the electoral rights of women were announced, as well as the prosocial package of social rights. From here and from the nearby Świdnik started the avalanche of solidarity - Lublin July.
