In 2019 we are celebrating the 450th jubilee of signing the Union of Lublin.
A quick reminder: on the 1st of July 1569 in Lublin, an agreement between the Crown of Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was signed. A new state was created, known as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It had common monarchy, coat of arms, the Seym, currency, as well as foreign and defence politics. The army, treasury, laws, and administration remained separate. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth existed for over two hundred years and was the biggest, after the Roman Empire, country of the Old Continent.
In the official celebrations schedule we can find many interesting events that will remind us of this chapter of history, essential not only for Lublin and Poland, but for the whole Europe.
