In der Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts brachten Mikołaj Daniłłowicz zusammen mit seiner Frau Zofia aus der Familie Tęczyński die Karmelitinnen nach Lublin und initiierten für sie den Bau einer Kirche und eines Klosters. Die Kirche erhielt den Namen, Kirche der Unbefleckten Empfängnis der Heiligen Jungfrau Maria‘, und die Schwestern nannte man die ‚Empfängnis-Schwestern‘, um sie von den Karmelitinnen des Klosters bei der St.-Josef-Kirche zu unterscheiden. Der Bau der Kirche konnte erst zu Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts dank der finanziellen Unterstützung von Elżbieta Sieniawska vollendet werden. Die Konsekration fand im Jahr 1721 statt. Der Kirchengrundriss hat die Form eines Lateinischen Kreuzes. Die Fassade ist charakteristisch für die Lubliner Renaissance: schmal, dreiteilig, mit einem dreieckigen Giebel und einer deutlichen pilastrischen Aufteilung der Außenfassade. Das im Norden an die Kirche angrenzende Kloster hatte zu Beginn die Form eines Vierecks und verfügte über einen Innenhof (Viridarium).
